本校の姉妹校である大阪情報コンピュータ高等専修学校の生徒が第20回「まんが甲子園」に出場し、決勝戦でみごと『実行委員会会長賞』の受賞を果たしました！
「まんが甲子園」とは高知県などが主催する、高校生を対象とした全国規模の漫画コンクール。毎年8月に高知市の「かるポート」で開催されています。今年度 は全国の応募総数323校という激戦の中からか35校だけが出場校として選抜されました。そんな中、大阪府の代表として大阪情報コンピュータ高等専修学校 のマンガ・アニメコースの生徒チーム５名が全国の舞台に立ちました。なんと、近畿地方でもたった2校のみの選抜です。

さらに現地での一次競技、敗者復活戦を経て絞られた25校で決勝戦が行われました。決勝戦のテーマである「第１００回まんが甲子園」という題に対し、 「８０年後のまんが甲子園では作品のキャラクターが３Dで飛び出し、対戦校とのバトルで相手を威圧する」という個性的な作品をつくりました。そしてみごと 受賞した『実行委員会会長賞』。

表彰式でおこなわれたインタビューでは、メンバーの一人が「敗者復活戦を通過して決勝戦に参加できただけでも満足でした。賞をいただけて本当にうれしいです。」と満面の笑みで答えていました！
